Candace Simar

Candace Simar is an award-winning author, poet, speaker, and presenter from Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. Drawing on her Scandinavian heritage and a lifelong passion for history, she writes historical fiction that brings the early days of Minnesota and North Dakota vividly to life. Her acclaimed novels explore the experiences of immigrants, settlers, and frontier communities, blending meticulous research with compelling storytelling.

Simar is best known for her Abercrombie Trail series, which includes Abercrombie Trail, Pomme de Terre, Birdie, Blooming Prairie, Escape to Fort Abercrombie, and Sister Lumberjack.
