Jane Coletti Perry is an award-winning author of historical fiction whose stories illuminate the resilience, courage, and enduring spirit of ordinary people shaped by extraordinary circumstances. Inspired by family history and a lifelong fascination with the past, she weaves richly researched narratives that bring forgotten voices and untold stories to life. Growing up in Ames, Iowa, Perry developed a love of history and storytelling that led her to earn a degree in English from Iowa State University. Her debut novel, Marcello’s Promise (2019), drew inspiration from her family’s immigrant journey and established her as a compelling voice in historical fiction. Her award-winning short story, Lila’s Song, received the Women Writing the West LAURA Award in 2021 and later became the prequel to her acclaimed novel Lila’s Journey, released in 2024 and recognized as a finalist for the Women Writing the West WILLA Award in Historical Fiction. A dedicated member of the writing community, Perry belongs to Women Writing the West, Western Writers of America, and Wyoming Writers. When she is not researching history or crafting stories, she enjoys singing in choirs, spending time outdoors with a good book, and sharing treasured moments with her husband, two children, and six grandchildren. She currently resides in Kansas, where she continues to uncover and celebrate the stories that connect generations.
