A graduate of Loyola University, Harrigan earned advanced degrees from the University of Chicago and Georgetown University, including a Ph.D. in Political Science. Harrigan is the author of the acclaimed Goodbye Series, including Goodbye Cuba, Goodbye Bobby, and Goodbye Demons. Harrigan writes from the banks of the St. Croix River in Minnesota, where he lives with his wife, Sandy.
