The Lakes Area Writers Alliance Annual Fall Conference, “A Writer’s Roadmap”, will be held October 17-18 at Madden’s on Gull Lake in Brainerd.
Calling all Writers!
The conference begins with a social on Friday at 7:00 p.m. providing an opportunity for writers to meet and network with fellow writers, published authors and publishing professionals. Saturday begins at 10:00 a.m. and features four panels of regional authors and publishing professional on the topics of writing craft, publishing, marketing and insights from agents, editors, reviewers, and grant writers. Featured presenters include industry professionals from Blue Cottage Agency, The Brainerd Dispatch, Lake County Journal and Five Wings Arts Council as well as regional authors Christine Husom, Candace Simar, EH Drake, Jason Lee Willis, Jodie Leigh Murray, AW Powers, Barb Schlichting, TJ Jones, Kari K. Gallagher, and Joe Prosit. Tickets are $60, include lunch, and are available at www.lawamn.org.
Lakes Area Writers Alliance is a community literary arts non-profit organization that works to inspire, enrich and educate writers. Made up of an alliance of writers in the Brainerd Lakes Area of Minnesota, the organization believes in writers helping writers and continually strives for creative ideas to support writers. The organization hold monthly meetings at 5:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Brainerd Public Library.
