Blue Cottage Agency and The Crossing Arts Alliance are pleased to present a one day creative writing workshop Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 9 am to 5 pm, at the Q Gallery at the Franklin Arts Center, 1001 Kingwood St. #222, Brainerd, MN 56401. This creative writing workshop is under the direction of award winning author Candace Simar (Abercrombie Trail series) and creative writing teacher Angela F. Foster.

We will discuss some of the components of story — a setting that immerses the reader in your story world, conflict that keeps your reader turning the page, and dialogue with fluidity, flowing like clear water without lumps and bumps.  We’ll talk about some of the common missteps writers make and how to avoid them, touching on point of view, writing that important first page, and creating interesting characters.
