Sonya Hess Chamberlain will present the class “Pruning Your Poems” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Franklin Art Center in Brainerd as part of the Taste of the Arts Tuesday Sampler series. This workshop will include group discussion of one poem in progress by each participant, as well as instructor feedback on up to three poems per person. Learn more about thoughtful editing, working with critique, editing your own and others work, and polishing a poem. Participants should expect to spend equal time in discussion, workshop, and writing exercises. All levels welcome. Class Fee is $10 or $5 for Crossing Arts Alliance members. Chamberlain holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the Writers Workshop at Warren Wilson College and is a former “Artist in the Schools” with the MN state arts board. Her work has been published in “The Sun”, “Heliotrope”, “Cadence of Hooves Anthology”, “St Ann’s Review”, “M Review” and other literary publications both print and online.
The Tuesday Sampler: Taste of the Arts Series, presented by The Crossing Arts Alliance, is a literary and visual arts series of classes on Farmer Market Tuesdays at the Franklin Art Center.
